Steve Jobs died Wednesday, the fifth of October 2011.
He was one of the most creative, innovative minds of the 21st century.
He implemented one of the most successful business models ever.
On par with Henry Ford and John D Rockefeller. The name Apple has become synonymous with technological advancement.
He amassed a fortune of approximately $7 billion. Apple stock is the most valuable commodity in the world.
The chorus of praise and sounds of adulation are echoing from every corner of the globe.
In short, his departure meant a great loss to the field of technology and the present age.
However, from here ad finitum whatever is said or uttered will not help or hinder him at this point.
He was a Zen Buddhist who reportedly experimented with LSD. He extolled the virtues of this lifestyle, proclaiming it enhanced and stoked his creative juices.
Bill Gates once requested that he leave the bulk of his estate to charity upon passing. He declined.
As I review the foregoing and ponder the following, this whole sad situation gives me pause as a Christian believer.
It is appointed unto man once to die but after this the judgment. There is a way which seems right unto man but the end thereof are the ways of death. For God shall bring every work into judgment with every secret thing whether it be good or evil.
Steve Jobs never subscribed to or believed any of the above. His family and legion of admirers had better hope he was right. Because from an eternal perspective, if he was wrong, he has just received a blow from which he cannot recover.
