In less than two months, an exorbitant fee increase for some of the most common immigration procedures in America will go into effect in an attempt to solve a budget crisis with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Here is a list of the immigration forms that will be affected as of October 2

▪ Form N-400, Application for  U.S. citizenship through naturalization will increase from $640 to $1,160 if filed online, or $ 1,170 in paper filing. Remember, you also must apply for biometrics, which is an additional $85. So, the final total will be $1,245. Percentage change: 83% (81%).
