Would you like LSD and Ecstasy with your therapy session?

A 62-year-old psychotherapist received a 16-month suspended sentence and 2,000 Franc (US$2,300) fine last Monday by a Swiss court for treating his high-society patients with LSD and Ecstasy.

Between 2004 and 2008, the psychotherapist supplied these drugs to groups of over 60 people on a weekend meet-up. The drugs included 700 doses each of LSD and Ecstasy, 50 of Mescaline and 150 of 2-CB. People who attended these meetings were doctors, lawyers and businessmen's wives each paying 300 Franc (US$335).

While on trial, the psychotherapist claimed they were not drugs, but "substances which allow the expansion of the consciousness."

The 62-year-old was found guilty of violating the law on therapeutic products.
