Microsoft Sexbox in the Making
January 5, 2011By Tasan Thompson

With the success of one of the season's gift sensations, some video game developers couldn't wait to turn MicrosoftKinect Xbox into "Sexbox."

Thrixxx, a video game manufacturer that produces 3D adult videogames, created a virtual sex game for Microsoft's Kinect (the first controller-free mechanism for the videogame console Xbox 360). The new game allows gamers eighteen and older to experience virtual fondling with various female avatars.

On screen, one will see a disembodied hand that appears to be floating in mid-air. The ghostly hand is then used to navigate how the user gropes any part of the virtual female.

"It looks like Thing from the Addams Family is partaking in some non-family oriented entertainment," states Darren Quick, a writer from Gizmag.

Ironically, the Kinect is marketed as the rival to the Nintendo Wii system and is supposedly completely for the purposed of family-oriented entertainment.

Microsoft's spokesman David Dennis said Microsoft is taking a stand against this new game.

"This isn't the first example of a technology being used in ways not intended by its manufacturer, and it won't be the last. Microsoft did not authorize or license its technology for this use and will take appropriate action against violations of its intellectual property," said Dennis in a public statement. "Xbox is a family-friendly games and entertainment console and does not allow Adults Only (AO) content to be certified for use on its platform, and would not condone this type of game for Kinect."

While they have not received permission yet, Thrixx's demos should be completed this year with every intention of making all their games adjustable to the Kinect. They are just waiting on Microsoft's green light.

Since most users of the console are young teenagers, Microsoft intends to take legal action against it.
