In The Mix TV Competition this Summer
April 4, 2012By Tiffani Knowles

This summer, LifeZone TV presents a production of M-RYS International, parent company for Soul Movement Crew and NEWD Magazine,  called "In the Mix."

It is a brand new talent search competition that dissuades unsigned performers from compromising their faith for that big break. Rather, we encourage performers to keep Christ "in the mix" of all that they do.

Different from reality talent search shows like Fox's American Idol, MTV's America's Best Dance Crew or even BET's Sunday Best, what sets In The Mix apart is its celebration and search of top talent in four exciting performance categories: Dance, Song, Rap and Fusion.

Category Requirements

Dance: You must be a dance group comprised of between 2 and 4 members. Dance styles can range from praise to lyrical, from mime to hip hop. Video applications should be no longer than 6 minutes. Performances for live shows will be cut to 2 minutes per group and show producers will be assigning you a song to choreograph. If you make it to the grand finale, you will be asked to prepare choreography to an entirely new song. Be aware that the staging area is 8'x15'.

Song: You must be a solo vocalist to enter. Video applications should be no longer than 5 minutes. Performances for live shows will be cut to 2 minutes per performer. You must perform only original music at the live shows.

Rap: You must be a solo rapper to enter. Video applications should be no longer than 4 minutes. Performances for live shows will be cut to 2 minutes per performer. You must perform only original music at the live shows.

Fusion: You must be an act that fuses more than one performance style within a performance such as song and dance, live instrumentation and song, rap and spoken word. Video applications should be no longer than 6 minutes. The selection committee may decide to place you in the fusion category if your video doesn't fit neatly into another category. Group applicants of up to 5 are welcome. Performances for live shows will be cut to 2 minutes per group. You must perform only original music at the live shows. Be aware that the staging area is 8'x15'.

How To Apply
